Wine tours

Day 1

Arrival to Yerevan Airport. Meeting with  assistant. Transfer and accommodation in hotel in Yerevan.

Day 2-Yerevan

Breakfast in HotelWe start our Excursion in the morning at 10:00 after breakfast.During this tour you will see all the major sights of the capital ( including the  Republic Square with It’s magnificent buildings enhanced by singing fountains,, the Opera house, the Cascade where you will see the statue of the world-famous sculptor Fernando Botero "The Black Cat” , the Parliament, the Palace of President, the National Academy of Sciences). Than we visit   Manuscript museum of Matenadaran which has an amazing collection of beautifully illuminated medieval Armenian manuscripts, including medieval Bibles.We will also visit the Genocide Memorial Complex and get acquainted with this sad page of Armenian history.Then we visit Yerevan Wine and Campaign factory where we can taste 8 different sorts of wine. Afterwards we can see a spa center where they have a wine spa. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3 -  Khor Virab –Areni- Noravank

During this excursion we explore  two amazing monasteries : Khor Virap and Noravank.The Khor Virap is an Armenian Apostolic Church monastery located in the Ararat plain in Armenia, near the border with Turkey, about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) south of Artashat Ararat Province. When you arrive you will be as close to Mt. Ararat as you can probably get in Armenia.The monastery was host to a theological seminary and was the residence of Armenian Catholicos. Khor Virap's notability as a monastery and pilgrimage site is attributed to the fact that Grigor Lusavorich, who later became Saint Gregory the Illuminator, was initially imprisoned here for 13 years by King Tiridates III of Armenia.You can visit the underground chamber which he was imprisoned in, located in the nondescript St. Gevorg Chapel apart from the main church.

Noravank -which is a 13th-century Armenian monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church, which grants access to the second floor by way of a narrow stone-made staircase jutting out from the face of building. Than we stop in Areni village ,where we can try various perfect wines.This is the center of  Armenian wine-making.Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 4: Winery in Oshakan – Amberd Fortress

Wel start with the visit to Oshakan, a vast archaeological site with remains of 7th century excavations. After this we will drive to Amberd which   is a 7th-century fortress located 2,300 meters) above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Aragats . The name translates to "fortress in the clouds" in Armenian. The castle ruins of Amberd comprised an area of 1,500 square meters. Its walls are constructed of roughly hewn basalt blocks set in place with mortar. Then we will visit wine factory in Oshakan village, North-West of Yerevan. Here you will get acquainted with the process of wine and cognac production. Here we will be given 11 sorts of wine. Overnight in Yerevan.


Day 5: Lake Sevan – Dilijan resort –Ijevan winery

After breakfast we drive  to the Lake Sevan.Which is . It is one of the largest freshwater high-altitude lakes in the world. The Sevan peninsula(formerly an island) is  to a medieval monastery.The island was uninhabited until the end of the eighth century A.D., when monks built a chapel and a group of cells. The monastery was founded in 874 by King Ashot I. During this tour we will see city  Dilijan .Hear you will have a pleasant walk through a old  museum street, with the buildings preserved from 19-century with the ceramics workshop and woodcarvers studio.Than we visit  the 13th century monastery Goshavank.Than we continue our marvellous tour to the Ijevan city , where we can  visit a winery. This area is notable for white wine production. we taste different sorts of wine. Overnight in Yerevan


Day6 - Departure transfer to the airport.
